If you are looking for a forested mountain accommodation experience, without the remoteness it often implies, our vacation rentals are perfect for you.

The Kootenay Huts eco-lodges are twins. Each chalet offers the same accommodations and services, including hot and cold running water, a toilet, a shower, a wood stove and a fully equipped kitchen. These huts, which can accommodate families or small groups of up to 6 people and are vast and cozy for couples, offer a large common room. A larger group would be better served by renting the two cabins… The huts are private but in close proximity on our 40-acre property.

All Seasons Rate

The cabins are rented out from one Saturday to the next.

The three-person occupancy rate is $650 per week or $1600/month. An additional $50 fee is charged weekly for any additional person.
There is no extra fee for kids under 12.

Kootenay Huts Dog-Friendly

Dog-Friendly Policy

We are happy to welcome your dogs to our cabins. If you bring your pets, the following rules apply:

There is a limit of two dogs per hut. Dogs must not be left alone and unrestricted in the cabin at any time. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets, both inside and out. Dogs are not allowed on beds or couches. When outside, dogs must be kept under control – not only for their own safety but for the protection of local wildlife. Dogs must be kept quiet in order not to disturb other guests.

Please mention your pooch when making an enquiry or a reservation!


If you want to book your home away vacation right now, you can make a reservation directly on the VRBO website. Two listings can be viewed there; one for each cabin.

VRBO or its affiliated partners will book your stay at Kootenay Huts… for a fee and Airbnb will do the same. This is called the sharing economy.


If you are a little more patient and want to avoid the fee, please inquire about availability by filling the form or texting us at 250-354-8389.


Once availability has been confirmed and the price of the stay is agreed upon, two invoices will be sent to you. A first one of $100 serves as a non-refundable reservation deposit and is due upon receipt. A second invoice for the remainder of the stay amount will be due one month prior to the stay. You will be invited to pay through e-transfer or PayPal. Your damage deposit will be refunded after your stay using the same method as long as no extra repairs or cleaning is required. We realize that changes in your travel plans might occur and you may need to cancel (parts or all of) your stay. As a small business, this affects us greatly. Hence as much notice as possible would be greatly appreciated.

Cancellation policy:

Our cabins are reserved by our guests long before their stay and are very rarely rented on short notice. Consequently, in the case of a reservation cancellation, we will not refund the $100 deposit

Once you have paid the second invoice to secure your reservation, we will not refund that amount since there would be no way for us to rent your spot out.
